How I handle options that have been assigned or expired?

To handle expirations or assignment manually. 

Expirations

Some brokers provide a record for when an option trade has been expired. If your broker does not, you will have to close the expired option trade manually.

To check to see if you have open expired trades. click on Reports and then Options Expiring.



Go back to the Trades and open the Trade with the expiring option. Under position you will see which positions are expired and you can just click on Close and it will add a new transaction for you. This transaction will have a default price of 0 and you can now just save it.







Click on Save and you have now successfully closed your expired option. 


Assignments

If you have been assigned a stock, your broker will provide the correct information for Trade Portfolio Manager to handle this automatically.
